Little Canada Chiropractor : Dr. Paul Thompson
Allergies Led me to Chiropractic
Dr. Paul Thompson, Thompson Chiropractic
I was a sickly child growing up with severe allergies and headaches. I used to get allergy shots which did not take care of the problem. I asked my mother if I could try something else. She then took me to a chiropractor.
After my very first treatment I remember feeling like “weights” were lifted off my upper back! I didn’t realize how tight everything was in my body until then. Shortly after continued chiropractic treatment, my headaches began to get better. Right then, as a young boy, I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor to help others feel better as well.
My Chiropractic Education
In 1978 right after graduating high school, I jumped into schooling at Lakewood College in White Bear. (Now known as Century College). I then continued my education at Logan College of Chiropractic.
Early on in college I did massage therapy work, I was amazed at how many problems lessened by simply doing soft tissue work to the muscles. I took special interest in Dr. Leonard Faye’s work of motion palpation. Problem areas are located in the spine by palpating and moving the spine in different directions.
In 1997 I heard about deep tissue techniques from Dr. Warren Hammer which I began to use. Then in the year 2000 Graston tools were introduced for deep tissue doctors to allow for better healing. I have been doing the Graston Technique with chiropractic ever since!
Our Chiropractic Practice and Philosophy
I started my first practice in 1985. My goal then, as it is today, is to see people get better. I have a deep care and need to help people do what it takes to experience freedom from pain. I want to suggest what I think it is my patients need to get better, but ultimately leave the decision up the them to choose their care plan.
In our Little Canada chiropractic practice, I treat all types of injuries and help a wide variety of problems; sports injuries, whiplash, headaches, chronic pain in the elderly to name a few. There is nothing more satisfying to my soul than to hear my chiropractic patients say how much better they can move, or how much their pain has gone away. That is really what my work is all about.
On a Personal Note
I was raised in a large family and I am the 9th child of 11. I was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. I am married to the lovely Melba and together we have 5 children. In my spare time, I love riding my new motorcycle.
I am looking forward to meeting you and discussing how we can meet your overall wellness goals. Contact our Little Canada chiropractic office today to schedule your appointment.
